Description:

Elvis Back in Nashville, the definitive commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley's last Nashville session (2-LP analog) Elvis Back in Nashville" contains 82 untouched original recordings that capture Elvis and his musicians performing live in the studio, recording key songs and performances for later release. These rare sessions capture Elvis' final Nashville recordings in chronological order; some of the 1971 studio recordings in Nashville, with orchestral and vocal overdubs, are included on the seasonal product, The First Christmas (Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas). Wonderful World of Christmas (1971), the Grammy Award-winning gospel album He Touched Me (1972), Elvis Now (1972), and Fool (Elvis) (1973). Like his previous album, From Elvis in Nashville (released in November 2020), Elvis Back in Nashville captures Elvis Presley and his main band in their actual sessions, without orchestral overdubs or vocals. It is not accompanied by orchestral overdubs or vocals. The main difference between Elvis' 1970 and 1971 sessions in Nashville is that many of the 1971 recordings include the voices of backing singers. Thus, "Elvis Back in Nashville" contains a wide variety of songs with and without vocal enhancements. While many of the great recordings that Elvis and his musicians made during the legendary 1970 marathon sessions can be heard on From Elvis Back in Nashville, RCA and the Elvis staff have once again assembled a tight band, an age-old studio, a carefully chosen repertoire, and a collection of songs that are as diverse as the songs on Elvis Back in Nashville. repertoire, and a relaxed, natural Elvis in front of the microphone, an appealing combination that was maintained in order to record as much material as possible in a short period of time. The goal of these sessions was to produce about a year's worth of new material in anticipation of the limited time Elvis would be able to spend in the studio in the future as his subsequent concert schedule grew. In addition to a new Christmas album, a gospel album, and a pop album, RCA and Colonel Tom Parker told Elvis that they wanted "a few new singles for release in the summer and fall.Accordingly, Elvis' musical coordinator and producer, Felton Jarvis, booked a full week's worth of day and night sessions beginning March 15, 1971, bringing the same band of members he had recruited the previous year.
