John Davison, who worked with Jeff Downes on "The Ice Bridge" (Davison/Downes), which looks at the dangers of climate change, explained how he and his band mates approached the collaboration. He said, "Usually each member of the band is assigned to write their part, and I put my own personality into it. Jeff sent me snippets of his own exciting and often gorgeous sounds and told me to develop them freely as needed. It gave me the confidence to take on the vocals. I tried to stay true to Jeff's original ideas in terms of lyrics, vocal melody, harmonies, vocal presentation, and unique phrasing. John's vocals are great," adds Jeff Downs. He's really come into his own as a vocalist with Yes. This time around we got to write songs together, and he grew up working with other musicians. I think we've dug into some rich soil with this album."The cover artwork was designed and produced by longtime Yes collaborator Roger Dean. The album will consist of 11 tracks, 8 on the main CD and 3 tracks on the bonus CD. It will be released in 4 formats, including an analog version and a Blu-ray title with a 5.1 surround mix and instrumental high-resolution soundtracks. (2/2)
