Description:
Spander Ballet / Nick Mason's Saucerful of Seacrets guitarist=Gary Kemp, first solo album in 25 years, "INSOLO" Queen's Roger Taylor guesting on the album. Gary Kemp is a member (guitarist/songwriter) of Spandau Ballet and guitarist/vocalist of Nick Mason's Saucerful of Seacrets. Spandau Ballet had a string of hits in the 1980s, including "True," "Gold," and "Through the Barricades. With total album sales of over 25 million copies, Gary Kemp became one of the most successful songwriters of the era. Gary also gained popularity as an actor, appearing in the film "The Bodyguard" and the BBC comedy show "The Kemps." More recently, he joined the highly acclaimed project=Nick Mason's Saucerful of Seacrets, formed in 2018 to perform early Pink Floyd songs live, as a guitarist/vocalist. Twenty-five years after the release of his debut solo album, Little Bruises, his second solo album, INSOLO, focuses on two major themes: the paradox of loneliness in the urban landscape, and the growing obsession with past lives and their impact on the present as seen through the rearview mirror. The album focuses on two main themes: the paradox of loneliness in the urban landscape and the growing obsession with past lives seen through the rearview mirror and its impact on the present. The first track from the album, "Ahead of the Game," is a refreshingly 70s-inspired song. The back choruses for the songs on this album were inspired by late 70s groups like Wings, 10cc, and Supertramp," says Gary. Gary says, "I was inspired by groups like Wings, 10cc, and Supertramp from the late 70s. When asked why he is making a solo album now, Gary replied, "Playing around the world with Nick Mason has given me the confidence to gain a certain reputation as a guitar player and singer that I didn't get from the Spandau Ballet. It gave me the confidence to make a solo album.I feel that at a certain age I need to understand the problems of the world and my life, and in my case the only way I can do that is through self-therapy through songwriting." I feel the only way I can do that is through self-therapy through songwriting," he replies. The album features Guy Pratt, bassist for Pink Floyd and Nick Mason's Searchful of Seacrets, and Roger Taylor of Queen on drums for "Too Much. There are high expectations for his mature solo work to be released after 25 years.
