The Vienna Philharmonic celebrates the New Year with a spectacular waltz and polka. For the first time in history, the New Year will be performed without an audience in the midst of the Corona disaster. Conducted by master conductor Riccardo Muti. The Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert is held every year on January 1. The concert, which began in 1939 and boasts a history of more than 75 years, will feature the Strauss family waltz and polka dots, symbols of Vienna's musical capital, as well as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's New Year's Concert. The concert features waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family, symbols of Vienna's musical capital, and tickets are said to be the most difficult in the world to obtain. In 2021, the New Year's Concert will be held under such unusual circumstances, and Riccardo Muti, Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 2010, will take the podium for the sixth time in three years (following appearances in 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004, and 2018), showing the dignity of the king of conducting. He will be the king of the conducting world.The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra has conducted the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra more than 550 times since their first collaboration in Donizetti's "Don Pasquale" at the Salzburg Festival in 1971, and as an honorary member of the orchestra since 2011, Muti is currently the most closely associated with the orchestra, so we can expect a performance full of tension even amongst close friends. 2021 The program for 2021 includes "The Voice of Spring," "In the Clapfen Woods," and "The Emperor's Round Dance," which is a rare example of a virtuoso work of this caliber. In addition, Komzák's masterpiece "The Baden Girls," which has many fans in Japan due to Knappertsbusch's dynamic and masterful performance in the LP era, makes its New Year's debut. Two pieces by Karl Zeller and Karl Millcker also make their New Year's debut, and this is the first time that works by these two musicians, who were both born in 1842, will be featured in the New Year's program. The first and second parts of the concert will each begin with a work by Suppé, who actually employed Millecker as a flutist in the orchestra of the Josefstadt Theater.The "Margherita Gallop" and the "Venetian Gallop," both with Italian connections, and the "New Melody Cadreille," featuring famous tunes from four Verdi operas, seem to celebrate Austria's ties with conductor Muti's native land. The audio for the CD and LP is provided by Teldex Studios in Berlin under the direction of Friedemann Engelbrecht. The two studios have a thorough knowledge of the hall's characteristics through their annual recordings, and the crisp, clear sound gives us the luxury of enjoying the musical feast that unfolds in the golden hall of the Vienna Musikverein, which is beautifully decorated with many flowers.
