Pearl Jam made their live debut in October 1990, and later released their debut album "TEN" in 1991, which became a mega-hit selling 13 million copies in the U.S. alone. Their debut album "TEN" was released in August 1991. Six months later, in March 1992, at the very time when their popularity was exploding, they appeared on the legendary "MTV Unplugged," a live acoustic studio show that was at the height of its popularity at the time. MTV Unplugged" was especially popular in the first half of the 1990s, when many big names such as Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Page & Plant, and many others appeared on the show.In such a situation, their appearance as a new band just after their debut was a great choice, and at the same time, it shows how tremendously popular they were among the young people of that time.
