This is the masterpiece of the dry season. Bruckner's masterpiece marks the start of an unprecedented project for Thielemann and the Vienna Philharmonic. Christian Thielemann, who is also Chief Conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden, General Music Director of the Salzburg Easter Festival, and a regular member of the Vienna Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic, is regarded as a world master of German music in both name and reality. Christian Thielemann, who conducted the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert and was acclaimed for his superb music-making in his first appearance with the orchestra, has launched a big project with this renowned duo, who are building an increasingly close relationship. The first of the nine symphonies, Symphony No. 8, will be performed on the Sony Classical label in 2024, Bruckner's bicentennial year.This was a live performance (without applause after the performance) at the second reserved concert of the season held at the Musikvereinsaal in Vienna in October 2019, and was also featured twice in the Japan tour held the following month in Nagoya on November 7 and in Tokyo on November 11. (At the Tokyo concert, a hastily organized autograph session was held after the concert, and Thielemann was seen in a good mood despite the long line of music fans who wanted his autograph.) The effect of the opposing arrangement of strings to highlight the structure of the work was immense. Thielemann's performance is a definitive masterpiece of the great symphonic works of the 19th century, the pinnacle of the symphonic form. Thielemann performed Bruckner's Symphonies at his first concert as Chief Conductor of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra (2004-2011), and at his inaugural concert as Chief Conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden (2012-), he performed Bruckner's Symphony No. 8.The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, which was trained by Celibidacke and has reached the extreme point of Bruckner performance in the 20th century, and the Staatskapelle Dresden, which boasts a 450-year history dating back to the 16th century, have absorbed the tradition of Bruckner performance from these two great orchestras, while also performing with the Berlin Philharmonic and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Thielemann's Bruckner symphonies have been performed by the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Vienna Philharmonic, both of which have 450 years of history dating back to the 19th century. In addition, Thielemann's Bruckner performances of No. 5 with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra are available on Deutsche Grammophon, No. 4 and No. 7 on C Major, and the complete symphonies with the Staatskapelle Dresden (recorded in 2012-19) are also available on C Major. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's cycle is sure to be a fulfilling performance that can be seen as the conclusion of his Bruckner interpretation. Sony Music
