Meditation and mystery through the human voice - a serene musical journey by the choir World Choir for Peace. This is the debut album for Sony Classical by the chamber choir World Choir for Peace. The choir was formed in 2018 with the support of UNESCO in Germany. The first concert, held in Berlin to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, was a great success, and since then, along with the Waldorchester for Peace, founded by Solti and now conducted by Gergiev, the choir has been a member of various international organizations including UNESCO Since then, the orchestra has played an important role as an ambassador of peace through music, performing at various international events organized by UNESCO, the United Nations, and other organizations. The core members consist of 24 professional singers from 15 countries around the world and are conducted by Nicole Matt, a well-known choral conductor of the Chamber Choir of Europe and others. The new album is a 2-CD set of easy-listening choral works by contemporary composers, compiled on two CDs, with guest musicians including harpist Lavinia Meyer.Works are by Karl Jenkins, John Rutter, Grammy-nominated composer and pianist Hauschka, San Fermin leader Elise Ludwick Leon, Estonian pop violinist Marja Nute, German soundtrack composer Darfit Reichert, and others. The world premiere recordings of 15 of the 19 pieces are also significant. Some of the choral pieces feature additional instrumental ensembles, including harpist Lavinia Meyer, violinist-influencer Esther Abrami, pianist Tim Allhoff, or cellist Gereon Theis. The recording is also ingenious: the members sing in a circular line, all singers and instruments use one or more individual microphones, and it is the first choral music ever to be produced with 360°Reality Audio recording.360°Reality Audio is a stereoscopic audio technology developed by Sony to create a 360° spherical sound field of individual sounds for a unique listening experience.
