New album "SIX60" from New Zealand's most powerful pop-rock band "SIX60", which has been streamed over 200 million times and sold out the largest concert in Oceania for 50,000 people, was formed in 2008 while attending university in New Zealand's second largest city, Dunedin. SIX60 is a five-piece band formed in 2008 while studying at university in New Zealand's second largest city, Dunedin. The band has been extremely popular in the Oceania region, with their 2011 album "Six60" going platinum seven times and their 2015 album "Six60(2)" going platinum five times. In 2010, their single "Rise Up 2.0" debuted at No. 1 on the NZ Singles Chart. The following year, "Don't Forget Your Roots" was recognized at the NZ Music Awards as the best selling single, most played song on the radio, and best song of the year, cementing their popularity. The All Blacks, the New Zealand national team that is ranked number one in the world for its overwhelming strength, is well known for its haka, a traditional dance performed before games at the Rugby World Cup, and for its close relationship with the All Blacks, a very popular team in Japan that is ranked number one in the world for its overwhelming strength. Six60's lead singer Matiu Walters and drummer Eli Parway played together with former Six60 bassist and rugby player Hoani Matenga, who was selected for the Maori All Blacks, when he was a university student. They have provided music for the All Blacks' #backblack campaign for the World Cup, and were invited to perform live at the All Blacks' friendly match in Oita, Japan, at the end of September. The band boasts an overwhelming presence as a national band in Oceania, including their home country of New Zealand, and they have achieved the feat of selling out a 50,000-person show, one of the largest for a band from New Zealand, and have released their new self-titled album "SIX60". Starting with "Please Don't Go," the first single from the album, their sound is so pop that they could be called the "New Zealand Maroon 5. Keep your eyes on their future activities in Japan.
