The first track "It's a Mirror" won "Best New Track" at Pitchfork! Musical geniuses, PERFUME GENIUS, have released their latest album with Blake Mills as producer! Mike Hadreas, one of the most important figures and musical geniuses in the brilliant US indie scene of the decade, has released his seventh album "Glory" on Matador Records. The single "Glory", which was released simultaneously with the album announcement, has already been selected as one of the "Best New Tracks" by Pitchfork, a U.S. music media outlet. Glory" is the result of a historic collaboration between artists who have made their mark on music history. In addition to Grammy Award-winning producer Blake Mills and keyboardist and co-producer Alan Wyffels, who have worked together for many years with Perfume Genius, the band is once again working with some of the great musicians they have toured and worked with in the studio. Jim Keltner, who has recorded with members of The Beatles including John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, as well as The Rolling Stones, and has worked with Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan; drummer Buck Meek (Big Thief) band members Tim Carr, guitarist Meg Duffy, a former member of Kevin Morby's band who also performs as Hand Habits, Gregory Yurman, and bassist Pat Kelly, who has played in the works of Sparks and Saint Vincent, plus the one and only brilliant SSW, Aldous Harding also makes a special appearance. For much of his career, Pfum Genius has taken an introverted approach to composition, but in the creation of Glory, he has collaborated more with the musicians involved in the project. The result is a musical foundation that brings a new tension and drive to his narrative. The album depicts themes that he has grappled with throughout his career: the body and its collapse, domestic life and love, inescapable history and wounds. But "Glory" is written from a new perspective. It is a perspective that says that beyond hardship, one must learn to live in a quiet, unknown place, while facing everything that has happened in the past.
