Big Thief, the future of indie-folk, releases its latest album, the polar opposite of "U.F.O.F."! Fresh off the release of their third album "U.F.O.F." in May of this year, which was acclaimed by many media including Pitchfork, which called it "unquestionably a masterpiece," the indie-folk band Big Thief has already released their fourth album, "Two Hands. Hands", their fourth album. While "U.F.O.F." was recorded at Bear Creek Studios in the wet woods of Washington State with sound effects and a theme of "the sky," "Two Hands" was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in the red clay pecan orchards of Texas with a theme of "mud. It was recorded live by just the four members, and was completed with the same producer (Andrew Sarlo) and engineer (Dom Monks) as the previous album.Although the band shares the same core sound of traditional folk influences and introspective lyrics, this album focuses on maximizing the appeal of the vocals, which dynamically express the band's emotional swings, and by cutting back on the ensemble and the number of notes, a more raw band sound is pushed to the forefront. The ensemble and the number of notes are reduced to bring the rawer band sound to the forefront. The band's delicate folk-influenced songs "Rock and Sing" and "Wolf," the powerful band sound of "Forgotten Eyes" and "Shoulders," which have already been performed live, and the emotional, freaky songs that won Pitchfork's Best New Track award, "Rock and Sing," "Wolf," and "Forgotten Eyes," which was released in 2006, are all new tracks. The album features songs such as "Forgotten Eyes" and "Shoulders," which have already been performed live with the band's powerful sound, and "Not," an emotional and freaky song and performance single that deserves the word "stunning.
