Born in Berlin, Corinna Simon studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, and made her debut at the Berlin Philharmonie. Since then, she has earned high acclaim as a solo and chamber music pianist. While she is a regular performer at various music festivals, she has also been teaching talented young pianists in master classes in Berlin for over 20 years. She has also launched numerous projects aimed at warming the hearts of children and young people through classical music. This two-disc album was produced to reflect these activities. It features a selection of piano works for children spanning three centuries, ranging from Bach to Haydn, Schumann, and Shostakovich, and even extending to film composer Nino Rota. Filled with accessible piano miniatures featuring a variety of sounds, this “Piano for Children” album awakens the curiosity of young listeners and entices them into the world of classical music. It offers a fun and accessible listening experience not only for children but for anyone interested in piano music.
