The film "Last Christmas" began when acclaimed British film producer David Livingstone (known for the BAFTA Award-winning "Welcome to the Parade" and "Judy" starring Renee Zellweger, among others) shared his love for the iconic hit "Last Christmas" by Wham! 's signature hit "Last Christmas" to Oscar-winning actress/producer/screenwriter Emma Thompson. That conversation sparked the fascinating idea of making a film inspired by "Last Christmas," and when Emma Thompson visited George Michael at his London home in the spring of 2013, he agreed. Highlights of the work include George's many big hits such as "Faith," "Fast Love," "Freedom 90," "Too Funky," "Heal the Pain," "Waiting for That Day," and even George's own favorite, "Playing for Time. and the classic "Move On" from "Alder".When Emma Thompson heard the new song "Dis is How (We Want You to Get High)," she immediately realized that she really had to use it for "Last Christmas. Of her encounter with George Michael that led to the making of the film, Emma Thompson said, "George's lyrics are so intelligent.
