Description:

Nathalie Dessay / Dedicated to Claude NougalotThe new album by Nathalie Dessay, the famous flower of borderless activity, is a tribute to Claude Nougalot, a brilliant man born in 20th century France. Claude Nougalot, a great chanson singer as well as a talented poet and composer, was born on September 9, 1929. His father was a baritone at the Paris Opera, and his Italian mother was a piano teacher. He was introduced to Bessie Smith, Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong, and others through the jazz program of critic Hugues Panache on Radio Toulouse, as well as to the chansons of Vincent Scott, Charles Trenet, Edith Piaf, and others. In 1951, he went to Paris and met the poet Jacques Audiberti. In 1958, he released his first album, which included "There Was One City," and in 1962, he released "Girl," composed by Jacques Datin, "Don Juan," composed by Michel Legrand with a touch of jazz, "Cinema," "Jazz," "Jazz," "Jazz," and "Jazz," and in 1963, he released his first album, "There Was One City," composed by Jacques Datin. The album, which included "Girl" by Jacques Datin and "Don Juan," "Cinema," and "Jazz and Java," composed by Michel Legrand with a touch of jazz, became a big hit.He also became more seriously devoted to jazz and developed his own unique style and gained popularity by taking up Dave Brubeck's music and covering jazz standards in French. While always attracted to jazz, in the 1960s he also showed a strong interest in African and Brazilian music, and in the 1970s he made new arrangements of French chansons, always offering new and innovative interpretations of the repertoire. After a tour in 2002, she took a break from singing, but continued to read on stage and in her albums, and died of illness on March 4, 2004. For this album, commemorating the 90th anniversary of Claude Nougalot's birth, world-renowned diva Nathalie Dessay has teamed up with Ivan Cassar, world-renowned producer, arranger, pianist, and longtime stage and studio collaborator of Claude Nougalot, to create She sings new and innovative interpretations of Claude Nougalot's repertoire. The album is elegantly and very skillfully crafted with beautiful arrangements, resulting in a perfect vocal performance and a magnificent orchestral jazz album. For this album, Laurent Vernelay (double bass) and André Ceccarelli (drums), who were original members of Claude Nougalot, also joined the band. Sony Music
