The hit song "Suspicious Mind," which reached No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart and became his signature song, was sung live for the first time (the song will celebrate its 50th anniversary on August 26). These performances marked a turning point for Elvis, who was joined by two vocal groups, The Imperials and The Sweet Inspirations, a full orchestra, and a band that later became known as the TCB Band, under the "King of Rock and Roll" Elvis. The band, which later became known as the TCB Band, provided backing. Live 1969 is the definitive collection of Elvis at the height of his vitality, and for the first time ever, the 11 performances at the International Hotel in Las Vegas in August 1969 are fully recorded.Four of these performances (8/21 Midnight Show, 8/22 Midnight Show, 8/24 Midnight Show, and 8/25 Dinner Show) are being released in their entirety for the first time, and two of them (8/22 Midnight Show and 8/25 Dinner Show) have been unreleased for almost 50 years. The International Hotel boasted a stage large enough for a 40-piece orchestra and a showroom with a capacity of 2,000 (with an additional 200 each night), the largest in Las Vegas at the time. The performances were a glowing success, embraced by fans and critics alike.
