Say, Fazil (1970-)

Description:

Composer Fazil Say's diverse and brilliant musical world performed by a young and beautiful virtuoso! Includes two world premiere recordings. Fazil Sai has been called a genius, a maverick, and a true prodigy. Since his shocking debut with a Mozart album including the Turkish March, he has been active on the international stage as a pianist and a composer. This album is the culmination of "Fazil Sai's" talent as a composer. A Thousand and One Nights in Haarlem" is a violin concerto written for violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja and commissioned by the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra in 2008. Based on the famous "One Thousand and One Nights," the technically demanding solo violin plays the role of "Scheherazade," the narrator of the story. Turkish percussion instruments are used to capture the exoticism of "Arabian Nights." A recording by the first performer has already been released, and this is the second type of recording.Grand Bazaar" is a rhapsodic symphonic poem about the vibrant atmosphere of the Grand Bazaar (Kapalchalış), a huge covered market in Istanbul, premiered in February 2016 by the Royal Sevilla Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Axelrod. China Rhapsody was premiered by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in July 2016. It draws inspiration from traditional motifs such as classical Chinese music, tea ceremony, Chinese instruments, and lullabies. The heavy use and abstraction of the five characteristic Chinese scales reflects Fazil Sai's creative drive. All three pieces have an oriental feel, yet the music is a sharp expression of the wildness and excellence of the recomposed music, not only melodically beautiful, but also dynamic and colorful with complex rhythms. Soloist Iskandar Wijaya was born in Berlin in 1986. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, and is a popular pop idol violinist in his Indonesian roots. She has already released four solo albums, including a Schumann album with Eschenbach on Ames Classics. Iraz Yildiz is one of Turkey's leading young female pianists and has been praised by Fazil Say. Sony Music
