The latest release in 2018 by one of the greatest cellists of our time, Yo-Yo Ma, is his third lifetime recording of Bach: The Complete Works for Unaccompanied Cello. Yo-Yo Ma, who has been playing Bach's Suite for Unaccompanied Cello since he was four years old, has commented on the work: "Bach's Suite for Unaccompanied Cello is the "Old Testament" of the cello, and my father, a musician, taught me to play it every day, without fail. For 60 years it has supported me, comforted me, and brought me joy in times of pain, in times of celebration, and in times of loss.
