After a bidding war involving 40 record labels, he signed with Columbia Records in 2014. Even before his debut, he performed at “SXSW (South by Southwest),” a global festival combining music, film, and interactive media, and won the “Best Performance Award.” Her debut album, released in 2015, debuted at No. 6 on the U.S. charts; two of her songs were featured in TV commercials, and she served as the opening act for Pharrell Williams at the Apple Music Festival in the UK.
