One of the highlights is the "TOY" studio album, which was supposed to be released in 2001, but was left behind in the interregnum of time, and has been talked about as a "legend" among fans.This fantastic album is now available in a special edition and will appear on January 7, 2022, the day before David Bowie's birthday, January 8! TOY" is an album that was recorded after his triumphant Glastonbury performance in 2000. After the highly successful Glastonbury show, Bowie went on to record new interpretations of songs first recorded between 1964 and 1971 with Mark Plati, Sterling Campbell, Gail Ann Dorsey, Earl Slick, Mike Garson, Holly Palmer, and Em Greiner. Bowie had a remarkably prescient plan to record in the so-called "old school" manner, recording live with the entire band and selecting the best takes to release the album as soon as possible. Unfortunately, in 2001, the "surprise release" format/concept and supporting technology had not yet been established, making it impossible to immediately release the "TOY" album to fans as Bowie had hoped. Therefore, Bowie looked further ahead and finished several new songs that were created during the same sessions to create a new work of art.That is the album HEATHEN, released in 2002 and recognized as one of Bowie's finest moments.
