To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of "The Lord of the Rings," the blockbuster film adaptation of Tolkien's masterpiece "The Lord of the Rings" that is considered the origin of all fantasy, Enya's single "May It Be," which was also included in the film soundtrack, is now available on picture disc for the first time on analog! This is the first film in the "Lord of the Rings Trilogy," directed by Peter Jackson and scored by Howard Shore, who is well-known for his Cronenberg films and blockbusters such as "The Silence of the Lambs," "Seven," and "Gangs of New York. The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring" was released 20 years ago in December 2001. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of the memorable film, Enya's single "May It be", recorded for the film's soundtrack, will be released on picture disc analog. Director Peter Jackson approached Enya to write a song for "The Lord of the Rings," and she and longtime producer/arranger Nicky Ryan created the song, which was released in 2002 as a three-song album with the coupling tracks "Isobella" and "The First Of Autumn" were released as a three-song CD single in 2002. Along with the film, "May It Be" was highly acclaimed by fans and critics alike, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song, a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and a Grammy Award for Best Motion Picture Song. Enya recorded "May It Be" and the songs on the single just as she was working on her fifth studio album, A Day Without Rain.The First Of Autumn" is included as an instrumental on this studio album, and "Isobella" is a bonus track on the Japanese edition of A Day Without Rain. The picture disc analog of "May It Be" is being released to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the film's release. This single will be the first analog release in this commemorative year.
