Marillion is a British progressive rock band that continues to attract many progressive rock fans in the UK and Europe, even 40 years after its formation. The band's 1991 album "Holidays in Eden", which was created from scratch with new frontman Steve Hogarth, has been reissued in 2022 in a new stereo remix of the original album and a rare live recording from Hammersmith, London, on a 4-LP deluxe vinyl set. The deluxe edition of the 4-LP set includes the original stereo remix and a rare live recording from Hammersmith, London! Marillion, a British progressive rock band that has been attracting many progressive rock fans in the U.K. and Europe for 40 years since their formation, is reissuing their original albums in a deluxe edition. The new album is a new addition to the series of deluxe edition reissues of their original albums, which have led the British neo-progressive rock scene since the 1980s. This time, Marillion's sixth studio album, "Holidays in Eden," released in 1991, will be reissued in a deluxe edition. This is the second album with Steve Hogarth, who joined the band after the departure of the original frontman, Fish. While much of the music on the previous album, SEASON'S END, had already been written before Steve Hogarth joined the band, HOLIDAYS IN EDEN was the first album to be created from scratch after Hogarth joined. The new lineup brought a new approach to the band, and at the same time, the band was under tremendous pressure from EMI, the label of the time, for radio-friendly singles that would be commercially viable. As a result, the album was produced by Chris Neal, who, like the band members, wanted the album to have a "typical Marillion sound" except for the singles. The result is HOLIDAYS IN EDEN, an album featuring adult-oriented pop-rock singles such as "No One Can" and "Dry Land," along with witty, stirring rock numbers such as "The Party" and "This Town. The album featured witty and inspiring rock numbers such as "The Party" and "This Town". Holiday in Eden, which Hogarth called "the most pop album in Marillion's history," reached #7 on the UK Albums Chart. This deluxe 4-CD analog edition includes a 2022 new stereo remix of the original album by Stephen W Tayler and a complete live performance in Hammersmith, London in 1991. The new Marillion, with Steve Hogarth, has arrived at a calm and mature progressive rock sound under pressure from labels that demand a more commercial sound.
