Description:
Tribute to Gulda is a fascinating new project by talented young Polish pianist Adam Kosimija. By including works by legendary Austrian pianist and composer Friedrich Gulda and Beethoven's last piano sonata, this "hauntingly beautiful" collection of works with elements of jazz improvisation and classical virtuosity will appeal to classical and casual music listeners It appeals to a wide range of audiences, from classical music listeners to casual music listeners. I love the energy of Gourda's work! You can immediately hear the creative personality in his music. The driving swing and vast harmonic worlds bring both pleasure and challenge to the performer, especially in the improvised sections. Everyone knows Friedrich Gulda as one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century, but not everyone knows that he composed. In the second movement of Beethoven's Sonata No. 32, a totally surprising syncopated piece with parallels to ragtime and jazz, Gulda's music is a masterful example of the power of the piano.Combined, Gurda's music reveals a deep connection between Gurda's own compositions and the classical masterpieces he performed with such great skill and profound understanding, despite the jazz harmonies and swinging rhythms. I wanted to share these wonderful works with the audience and encourage as many listeners as possible to hear how the bridge between classical and jazz music is being made here in the best of taste. Everything about Gurda is like fire to me... I feel passion, emotion, joy and energy in his music. I love it! I love it!" said Adam Kosmijeja, the performer. Paul Gulda, Friedrich Gulda's son, also said, "Adam Kosmija is a great musician, and I am very happy to have him as a part of our group. Adam Kosmija's masterful performance of demanding piano works in this recording is very impressive. His experience in Polish and international contemporary classical music performance, ranging from avant-garde electronic experimentation, gives his approach a clear and different perspective.Still, the driving swing in my father's masterpiece "Prelude and Fugue" is something not to be missed, and this is the actual starting point and a new chapter" Warner Music Japan
