Ahead of the 2022 release of the “Complete Warner Recordings CD Box Set”—featuring newly remastered recordings to mark the 35th anniversary of Jacqueline du Pré’s passing—a limited-edition vinyl LP of “Brahms: Cello Sonata” will be released in advance Jacqueline du Pré, the legendary cellist who left this world far too soon. This is an overwhelming, must-hear performance born of her exceptional technique—from the expression of the desolation unique to Brahms in his Cello Sonata No. 1 to the rock-shattering power and passionate intensity in the emotionally charged passages of No. 2. Baremboim’s piano playing also perfectly captures the essence of Brahms’s world, and the duo’s collaboration is brimming with inspiration as they draw out the hidden charms of the music. For this release, we are using a new 2022 remastered audio source derived from the original master tapes to produce a limited-edition 180g analog LP. *As this is an imported product, upon arrival, the item (including the jacket, outer vinyl sleeve, outer box, case, and inserts) may exhibit minor scratches, creases, scuffs, dents, tears, stains, crushed corners, or scratches and stains on the disc surface that do not affect playback, as well as variations in appearance or individual differences.
