a-ha, one of the world's most successful bands with a large and devoted fan base, is proud to announce the release of their millennium comeback album in a deluxe edition featuring the latest remastered versions of the albums, bonus tracks, previously unreleased demos, outtakes, live performances and more. The new edition will be released in a deluxe version. This "Major Earth | Minor Sky" [Deluxe Edition] includes CD1, which is the latest remastered version of the original album with an additional bonus disc, and CD2, which contains 16 demo tracks, out-takes, and live recordings. The booklet also includes a booklet by music journalist, keyboardist, and musician, Kayla Harris. After the release of their fifth album "MEMORIAL BEACH" in 1993, a-ha went on a seven-year hiatus. In 1998, a-ha was invited to perform two songs at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo.In 2000, they released their masterpiece album "Major Earth | Minor Sky", which reached number one in many European countries, as if to coincide with the beginning of a new century. They continued to receive great acclaim on their world tour and released "Lifelines" in 2002. They made a successful comeback to the scene. The album was an immediate #1 hit, going platinum in Norway and Germany, and going gold in Austria, Spain, and Switzerland. The album's title track "Faraway Sky and Earth", "Velvet", and "Summer Moved On - Endless Summer", which reached #1 in Norway and Top 10 in Germany, were released as singles. With demos, early versions, and another mix, "Faraway Sky and Earth [Deluxe Edition]" is more than just a reissue of the hit album; the contents of CD2 could almost be called a reinterpretation of the album in its entirety.The songs and versions that did not make the final album, including early versions of "Faraway Sky and Earth," "Velvet," and "Summer Moved On - Endless Summer," as well as a wonderfully powerful version of "The Day the Sun Disappeared," reveal the spark of songwriting and the process by which a hit can come from an idea.
