A historic recording made by Herbert von Karajan with the Philharmonia Orchestra for the former EMI. The young Karajan's dashing conducting is a must-see. The producer, who was also the benefactor who saved Karajan from a difficult situation, was the wife of Walter Legg, the overwhelming Marshaless of Schwarzkopf. Otto Edelman as Baron Ox, Christa Ludwig as Octavian, and other great singers are featured in this charming masterpiece with the sweet and sensuous beauty of the orchestra. The recording has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios at 24bit/96kHz from the original master tapes and will be released with a luxurious booklet. Warner Music Japan
