Zoffi Pacini, 2nd Warner Classics recording! In 2010, her talent was discovered by Argerich at the "Martha Argerich Project" in Lugano, and the following year she gave a recital at the festival. Her debut release for Warner Classics in 2016, a collection of works by Beethoven and Liszt, was highly acclaimed for its combination of power and delicacy of expression, and now "In Between" is a collection of works with a narrative structure. Europe around 1810 saw the birth of an astonishing number of "leading Romantic" composers.Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, they actually interacted and influenced each other. In this album, Schumann and his wife Clara, Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny. The works of these four are arranged in relation to each other. Although Mendelssohn and Schumann had a relationship in Leipzig, their styles are polar opposites: Schumann's is introspective and Mendelssohn's is open. Pacini's effective music selections highlight these contrasts. It was his sister Fanny who came up with the idea for Mendelssohn's "Mummets," as her innovative writing in "Songs for Piano, Op. 2-1" shows, a talent that even her brother Felix could compare to. Clara Schumann, a world-renowned pianist, was undoubtedly a great influence on her husband Robert. This album includes Liszt's arrangement for solo piano of Robert's "Dedication Op.25-1," which is not the brilliant version we usually hear, but a "Little Love Song" (only a sketch survives) that is very close to the original and more in line with Schumann's intentions.
