The French Romantic composer Saint-Saëns was also known as a brilliant pianist. His five piano concertos are full of improvisation and flowing passages, including the brilliant No. 2, highly acclaimed by Liszt, and the exotic No. 5, which has gained wide popularity and is still widely performed today. I have always been fascinated by Saint-Saens," says Bertrand Chamayou. He cherishes the Bach-like opening passages of No. 2, and in No. 5, he expresses the clarity of his nickname, "Egyptian style. Of course, the "mysterious sound" of the second movement of No. 5 is also emphasized, and one can fully enjoy Saint-Saens' avant-garde style.
