This is the album "Toys", which has been talked about by fans as a "legendary unreleased album", and which was first revealed to the world in the "Brilliant Adventure" box set, and which has excited fans all over the world! This album, which was recorded in 2000 while reinterpreting his own past works, is now finally being released as a stand-alone album. Toy" is an album that was being recorded after his triumphant Glastonbury performance in 2000. After the highly successful Glastonbury show, Bowie, along with touring members Mark Prati, Sterling Campbell, Gail Ann Dorsey, Earl Slick, and others, went into the studio to record new interpretations of songs first recorded between 1964 and 1971. Bowie went into the studio. Bowie adopted what he called "old school" recording techniques, recording live with the entire band and selecting the best takes for a "surprise" release of the album as soon as possible, an astonishingly prescient plan. Unfortunately, in 2001, the "surprise release" format/concept and the technology to support it had not yet been established, making it impossible to immediately release the "Toys" album to fans as Bowie had hoped. So Bowie looked further ahead and finished several new songs that were created during the same sessions. (1/2)
