Stereophonics is a Welsh guitar rock band that has become a national sensation. The frontman of the band, Kelly Jones, has completed his solo album. The title of the album is "DON'T LET THE DEVIL TAKE ANOTHER DAY", which is his first solo album since "ONLY THE NAMES HAVE BEEN CHANGED" in 2007. It is a "reimagined" album, featuring songs from Stereophonics and his own solo work, with new interpretations, arrangements, and emotions that only he can bring to the table today. Of the 21 songs on the album, 18 are Stereophonics numbers, two are from his previous solo album, and the remaining one is Kris Kristofferson's timeless classic "Help Me Make It Through The Night.The songs in the album were recorded in 2019 in various locations around the UK. And the songs he chose for this album are all songs that were by his side when he was going through the worst of times. For Kelly, DON'T LET THE DEVIL TAKE ANOTHER DAY was a great opportunity to move away from the constraints and ties that come with being a rock star leading the hugely popular band Stereophonics, and to create a record that is improvisational, vulnerable, and close to his listeners. With his unique and rich voice, he has captivated audiences through song and story, laughter and lamentation, and with this album he brings us back to the "emotional soul" of the songs that have grown with him throughout his career. The lead single from the album is a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through The Night. According to Kelly, this song was one of the songs his father sang to him as a child.
