The intense singing of "Vivaldi: Stabat Mater" by the world's most popular countertenor Jakub Orlinski, with its vivid sadness, Vivaldi's "Stabat Mater" is an emblematic masterpiece of composition, and was commissioned by the parish of Santa Maria della Pace Church in honor of the Virgin Mary First performed in this church on March 18, 1712, it was forgotten until its rediscovery in the 1920s in a vast collection acquired by the National Library in Turin, when it was restored by Alfredo Casella for the first time since 1712. It is believed that the alto solo was sung by a male singer (castrato or falsetto), since it is a Catholic liturgical piece that forbade women to sing. Although Vivaldi composed many concertos, the melody and sadness of the music, which seem quite different from those of the concertos, are very appealing and give satisfaction to the ear every time it is heard. It was also used to great effect in Akira Kurosawa's film "Rhapsody in August.The deep, emotional voice of Jakub Orlinski, now one of the world's most popular countertenors, is exactly what is best suited for this song, which emphasizes vocal expression and is filled with emotion in the 20-minute song. Orlinski said of the piece: "As a student, I was very much interested in this piece as an orchestra. As a student, I dreamed of performing this piece with an orchestra. Over the years I have heard many wonderful interpretations of the composition. Finally, on August 8, 2013, I remember how happy I was to sing the entire piece in a church in northern Poland. I remember very vividly how this Vivaldi piece had a great impact on me as a person and as a musician. I felt that I had been given the opportunity to incorporate this piece into my repertoire and now record it myself at this seemingly special time. To show my interpretation and to share what I see and feel in Vivaldi's music and its given text." Founded in 1970, Capella Cracoviensis is a Polish period instrument orchestra.The repertoire ranges from Renaissance polyphony to Romanticism and opera, and the orchestra has been invited to perform at many important music festivals and concert halls. The event was broadcast live on the radio and made a big splash. Recently, the orchestra has brought the masterpieces back to life with emotion, releasing revival recordings of secret operas such as Porpora's opera "German Germanico" and Pergolesi's "Adriano in Syria" on Decca and Monieuszko's opera "Halka" on DHM. The accompanying bonus DVD includes a short film (produced by the Effie Award-winning production company Dobro Films) starring Orlinski, written and directed by Sebastian Panzic, and directed by Tomasz Agustinek, which was inspired by this piece and performed in the background. *There are some very horrifying scenes.
