World premiere recording of works by František Ignaz Antonín Tuma (1704-1774) by the renowned Czech Ensemble Baroque. Following the previous recording "Requiem, Miserere" (SU-4300), this album features Te Deum (1745), Sinfonia, and Mass "Father of the Poor" (1736). Tuma was known as one of Hooks' most distinguished pupils, along with Zelenka and Muffat, and was on par with the political and social elite of the time. Te Deum" was composed for the Cistercian Wilhering Abbey in Upper Austria and was performed many times during the Eucharistic celebrations of the time. The Sinfonia was composed for the Premontres convent in its later years. The festive music recorded here is a notable work that attests to Tuma's abundant talent. King International
