Jana Boushková, one of the Czech Republic's leading international harpists, releases an album featuring her country's composers, Smetana, Dvořák, and Suk. Boushkova is an award-winning virtuoso whose awards include first prize at the 1992 International Harp Competition in the U.S. In 2004, she was selected as one of the 10 most outstanding women in the Czech Republic and was the first ever classical musician to receive the "Female Professional Award. She is currently a solo harpist with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music in London and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, where she is also active in fostering young musicians. In this album titled "My Country," Boushkova shows her love for her homeland in a performance of her best work. The album includes three pieces from "My Country" and the second movement of Dvořák's "From the New World," both of which are famous for "Moldau," and Boushková plays beautiful melodies filled with melancholy with all her heart.The program from this album was also performed in Japan in April 2019, captivating audiences with its unparalleled technique and exceptional expressiveness.
