More interesting than the original. Stravinsky's own "Nightingale Song," which requires superb technique, is the debut album of the new Czech pianist Valonika Bömová, born in 1985. She takes on the challenge of four difficult pieces from the Russian modern era. In 1914, Stravinsky composed the opera "The Nightingale Song" based on Andersen's original story, and in 1917, he transformed it into a symphonic poem for instrumental music only. In 1917, Stravinsky turned it into a symphonic poem for instruments only, and then arranged it for solo piano by himself, which was so difficult that it was rarely heard in performances or recordings. Böhmová's technique is astonishing, and there is nothing dangerous at all, allowing us to fully enjoy the exoticism of the Chinese taste. Stravinsky's "Four Exercises," which are surprisingly rarely recorded, are also valuable. Although this is a work for mechanical training, it is full of clear Stravinskyian colors.Prokofiev's masterpiece, the Piano Sonata No. 8, is also conquered with a generous amount of skill, and the radical "Four Exercises" from his early years are also noteworthy. The world of Prokofiev's barbarism is in full bloom. Veronika Böhmová studied under Ivan Kransky and Arkady Sendzipär, and has won prizes at the Maria Canals International Competition, the Anton Rubinsztein Competition in Dresden, and the Queen Elisabeth Competition, making her a young talent who has attracted much attention.
