Description:
Rostropovich, Thalich, and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Dvorak Cello Concerto A monumental recording by the prestigious Sprafon label, featuring soloist, conductor, orchestra, and work, is now available in 180-gram weight analog format, cut directly from the original analog master tapes! Sprafon, the world-famous Czech label that has been in business for more than 80 years, is pleased to announce the release of a special 180g weight analog release, cut directly from the original analog master tapes. The recording selected from among many masterpieces is Dvořák's Cello Concerto, performed solo by Rostropovich with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Thárlich. The soloist, conductor, orchestra, and the work are all together, and the legendary lineup has created a new legend. The original two 10-inch discs, which were coupled with the symphonic poem "The Witch of Noon," are rare and still sell for at least 10,000 yen in the used market. The new release also features a cover with an artwork by the two masters of the genre. The recording took place in 1952, two weeks after the young 25-year-old Rostropovich performed the piece at the Prague Spring Festival with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Karel Ančer, who was still banned by the communists from public performances in Bohemia. Václav Thalich, who was still banned by the communists from public performance in Bohemia, but was still allowed to make recordings. As he himself reveals, Rostropovich's performance here is strongly influenced by his interpretation of Tarich's work, that is, it is also, in unison with Tarich's, "a direct Dvorak legacy," and furthermore, Rostropovich points out how special this recording is, as he Rostropovich points out how special this recording is. "Some time after this record was released, I received a phone call from my friend Sviatoslav Richter. Richter said, 'I just listened to the recording with Thalich and found it to be a work of genius! I said. Richter was enthusiastic. I think this recording of the Dvořák cello concerto is my best. Even if I recorded it many more times later, it is the one that means the best to me. Throughout my life I have remained faithful to what Wenceslas Thalich taught me.King International, Inc.
