Václav Jan Kříčitel Tomášek (1774-1850) was a composer who positioned himself as a bridge between the Czech Classical and National Music schools. A contemporary of Beethoven, his style was similarly inclined toward Romantic lyricism, with Mozart as a starting point. Although he did not hold any official position, he was internationally recognized as one of the leading musicians in Prague's musical circles. Jan Václav Wojciech (1791-1825), a pupil of Tomaszek, was a composer who was influenced by Schubert on songs and influenced him on piano music. Because of his strong influence on Beethoven, he moved from Prague, Mozart's favorite city, to Vienna, where he was active in composing piano music and playing the organ. King International
