The debut Chandos album by the hot young female trumpet player Matilda Lloyd is a collection of arias inspired by 19th century Italian opera. Lloyd won the BBC Young Musician of the Year Brass Final in 2014, debuted at the BBC Proms in 2016, and won first prize at the Eric Aubier International Trumpet Competition in France in 2017, making her one of the next generation of master trumpet players He is one of the next generation of master trumpeters. In the words of the Saarbrücker Zeitung (March 2020), he captivates audiences and critics with his "perfect sound and virtuoso technique," and his performances display a unique flair every time. He has studied at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music in England, and at the Malmö University of Music under Håkan Hardenberger, one of the finest trumpet players of our time.With a repertoire ranging from Haydn to Tomasi to Ligeti, she has also devoted herself to expanding the trumpet repertoire by regularly collaborating with leading composers and musicians to premiere new works. In this album, she explores the sound of the trumpet in the golden age of opera, focusing on works by Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti. With her sweet and wistful tone overflowing with love for the trumpet and her polished technique, she not only introduces the beauty, musicality, and technical excellence of the trumpet instrument, but also appeals to the listener's heart with the true charm of the works.
