Alpesh Chauhan, a promising young British conductor! A collection of Tchaikovsky's orchestral works conducted by Alpesh Chauhan, Assistant Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra! Born in Birmingham, Alpesh Chauhan studied with Stanislav Sklovaczewski and attended master classes with Fanho Mena and Vasily Petrenko; from 2014 to 2016 he was Assistant Conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, studying with Andris Nelsons and Edward Cardner. From 2014 to 2016, he was Assistant Conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He then became Principal Guest Conductor of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in the 2021/22 season. He has also served as Music Director of the Birmingham Opera Company. He has frequently collaborated with orchestras of international repute such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, and the Philharmonia Orchestra, and is one of Britain's most promising young conductors, and this is his first recording on the Chandos label.
