Chandos resident artist Paul Watkins, a cellist with the Nash Ensemble and now a member of the Emerson String Quartet and conductor as of 2018. Watkins, who has released some of the finest recordings of British music, including the four-volume "British Cello Works" and the cello concertos of Walton and Dilius, will conduct another British music specialist, Andruw Davis, in a recording of Gerald Finzi's great "Cello Concerto"! Chandos' "Finzi: Cello Concerto" includes a masterpiece by Raphael Walfish (CHAN 10425X) recorded in 1986, so we can look forward to the first Finzi recording in over 30 years by the current Chadnos artists in 2018.
