Royal Over-Seas League Ensemble Competition 2015, Philharmonia Orchestra & Martin Musical Scholarship Ensemble Prize 2015, Tunnell Trust Award 2014/2015, Park Lane Group Artist 2015/2016. The Ferio Saxophone Quartet, a British saxophone quartet that has won numerous awards, including the St. John's Smith Square Young Artist of the Year 2016/2017. This time they will be performing with the Corvus Consort, a vocal ensemble based in the UK. Founded by Freddie Crowley, the Corvus Consort is made up of young British artists and has a wide repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary music, performing with artists from a variety of genres. This album features a rare collaboration between chorus and saxophone.The music ranges from early Baroque works by Heinrich Schütz to contemporary pieces, and this remarkable disc demonstrates the possibilities of a new sound.
