Julia Sitkovetsky makes her Chandos debut with a collection of Elgar songs! Julia Sitkovetsky, a young soprano of the Sitkovetsky family, makes her Chandos debut! A collection of Elgar songs, including a vocal version of "Love's Greeting" (Pansy)! Born in London to American soprano Susan Robert and Russian violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky, lyric dramatic coloratura soprano Julia Sitkovetsky studied at the Guildhall School of Music. She made her professional operatic debut with the English National Opera in one of her signature roles, Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), and has appeared with Scottish Opera, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Semperoper Dresden, and Deutsche Operhaus Rhine.In recent years, she has performed concert hall recitals with Roger Vignoles at the Wigmore Hall, Snape Maltings, and the Fundacion Juan March in Madrid, and in the summer of 2021, she performed in Dresden at the "International In the summer of 2021, she performed Shostakovich songs with her father Dmitry at the "Gorlish Shostakovich Tage" in Dresden. Julia Sitkovetsky's Chandos debut of Elgar's Lieder takes us on a tour of Elgar's works, with many of the popular ballads he wrote for a living and a variety of familiar, easy-to-play songs that appealed to the masses. The last two songs include world premiere recordings of versions of his works (Elgar's own arrangement of "Voices in the Desert" for soprano and orchestra with piano accompaniment, and a vocal version of "Love's Greeting" (Pansy) by Max Reisner (1853-1917)).
