A collection of French flute works including a flute version of Franck's Violin Sonata! Along with the Orsino Ensemble disc (RCHSA5282/CHSA5282) led by Adam Walker, Walker's solo album is also released on Chandos! Adam Walker was appointed principal flutist of the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of 21, soon after graduating with honors from the Royal Academy of Music in 2009, and has since received the MIDEM Classical Outstanding Young Artist Award, the Borletti-Buitoni Foundation Award, the Royal Philharmonic He has received the MIDEM Classical Outstanding Young Artist Award, the Borletti-Buitoni Foundation Award, and the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award (nomination). She is also a visiting professor at the Royal College of Music in England, and pursues a wide range of flute repertoire, from French Baroque to contemporary new commissions, and continues a vigorous performance career with orchestra, solo recitals, and chamber music.A collection of brilliant French works for flute, presented with pianist James Baillieu, who also performed with Adam Walker on his previous album, Vocalise, released in 2013. The program is built around Vidor's Suite, a flute version of Franck's masterpiece Violin Sonata, and Duruflé's Flute Trio, and showcases Adam Walker's incredible talent and superb musical expression.
