After visiting Piazzolla's home country and thoroughly studying the music, Albonetti arranged this Piazzolla for saxophone and chamber orchestra! Marco Albonetti, one of Italy's leading concert saxophonists, has been active as a soloist and teacher all over the world since his highly acclaimed debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and now he presents a new Piazzolla album! Albonetti was introduced to Piazzolla's music through the news the day Piazzolla died, and from that day to the present, he has maintained his passion for Piazzolla's music. For his doctoral thesis research, he traveled to Buenos Aires to study the composer's original scores and interviewed Piazzolla's wife, Laura Escalada, poet Horacio Ferrer, and musicians Pablo Seagrell and Jose Bragato, among others, to deepen his understanding of Piazzolla's music, and now, with the album With the exception of Oblivion, which was arranged by Seagrell, Albonetti himself orchestrated all the pieces on this album.Edizioni A.
