Description:
Ivan Illich! Antoine Reichat's "57 Variations"! Yvan Illich, a pupil of the legendary French virtuoso François-René Duchabre, has been working hard to rediscover Antoine Reichat. Following the Sonata in the first collection and the Fugue in the second collection, Illich presents in the third collection a large piece, "Technique de Variations," with a playing time of over 80 minutes. This is a work that is a true testament to Reischauer's reputation as a music theorist who also worked on experimental works and stated that "diversity is the soul of music," and it contains 57 variations, an unprecedented number at the time. Each variation is rich in diversity and originality, ranging from simple to complex, polyphonic to non-polyphonic, and strongly suggests that Reicha was not only a contemporary of Haydn and Beethoven, but also a pioneer of Chopin, Schumann, Arkan, and Liszt. The work is a strong reminder that Raicha was not only a contemporary of Haydn and Beethoven, but also a pioneer of Chopin, Schumann, Arkan and Liszt. Ilich himself describes this work as the missing link between Bach's "Goltberg Variations" and Beethoven's "Diabelli Variations," and indeed the "Diabelli Variations" show the influence of Reischer.Czech-born Antoine Reicha (1770-1836) (Czech: Antonin Reicha, German: Anton Reicha), active in Germany and France, was a composer, educator, and theorist who was born the same year as Beethoven and was a lifelong friend. He withdrew from performing and devoted his life to composition, leaving behind numerous practical treatises, and as professor of composition at the Paris Conservatory, he taught Liszt, Berlioz, Franck, Gounod, and others. Berlioz commented on Reixa's works, saying, "Many of them lie unpublished, and among them are some of the most important for the art of music. Tokyo M-Plus
