Lisa Friend's third Chandos recording, which has gained popularity through her solo recordings for Signum Classics and Champs Hill Records in the UK, is a journey through a wide range of repertoire for flute and guitar, from Brahms to Brazil's Bellinacci A captivating program. The original works by Ibert and Piazzolla, as well as those arranged & transcribed for "flute and guitar" or "flute and guitar quartet" formations, bring back the masterpieces of Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Fauré, Paganini, Villa-Lobos and others with a lively and fresh sound.Playing an important role in this program, and not just as an accompanist, will be Craig Ogden, the famous British guitarist who has made many excellent recordings, especially with Chandos in the 1990s, and the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, formed at the Royal Northern College of Music under the direction of Ogden and Gordon Crosskey, and one of the leading guitar quartets in the world.
