Lorti and Gardner's new recording project is the complete Saint-Saens piano concertos! French-Canadian pianist Louis Lortie won first prize at the 36th Busoni International Piano Competition in 1984 and fourth prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition the same year. The BBC Music Magazine called it "one of the 50 greatest performances by a peerless pianist".In addition to his high status as a Chopin and Beethoven player, Lorti is also well known for his "French" music such as Ravel, Fauré, and Poulenc.
