Finnish Maestro Jon Stuhlgård, who came into the limelight in 2014-2015 with the worldwide success of his two 150th anniversary discs, Sibelius: The Complete Symphonies (CHAN 10809) and Nielsen: The Complete Symphonies (CHAN 10859), and is now Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic and the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada. The second volume features the orchestral works of George Antile (1900-1959), newly released by Stuhlgård's, who came into the limelight with the international success of his two 150th anniversary recordings. Volume 2 includes Symphony No. 3, "The Americans," which was only performed in one movement during Antile's lifetime; Symphony No. 6, "Delacroix," influenced by Shostakovich and Ives; and two lively symphonic pieces and the "Spectre of the Rose," reorchestrated from music in the film "Spectre of the Rose. and "Waltz of the Rose Spirits," a reorchestration of the music from the film "Spectre of the Rose.
