Ramon Gamba's Dandy Orchestral Works Vol. 5! Vincent d'Indy (1851-1931), a great brother of César Franck, was one of the most famous French composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Ramon Gamba and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, who have played a major role in the reappraisal and restoration of Dandy's works, present the fifth volume of his orchestral works! Dandy was influenced by his teacher Franck, Beethoven, and Wagner, and was also active in collecting French folk songs.The charismatic Canadian pianist Louis Lortie plays the piano in the "Symphony on the Songs of the French Mountain People," an 1886 symphony also known as the "Cevennes Symphony!" The triangle of Lortie, Gamba, and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra will play the beautiful melody of the folk songs that Dandy was exposed to in the mountainous region of Cevennes in southern France with pastoral soft sound and French esprit. The acoustic of the new concert hall, Harpa, which opened in Reykjavik in May 2011, is also promising! Tokyo M-Plus
