His long-awaited studio album is a superbly crafted rendition of bluegrass and country in a hard rock and jam band context! Also available simultaneously as a 2-LP analog set! Billy Strings is a young guitarist from Michigan who now lives and works in Nashville, the capital of American music. Having been taught to play guitar by his father, a bluegrass musician, and as a teenager the lead guitarist in a progressive band, he made his debut in 2017 and has since gone on to win Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2020, the 2022 and 2023 He was named Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Awards in 2022 and 2023. He has also continued to garner attention by winning the International Bluegrass Music Award for Entertainer of the Year for three consecutive years.In 2022, he released his long-sought album with his father, "ME/AND/DAD," which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, and he signed with Ripley's Records in 2023. He then released "California Sober," a collaboration with country legend Willie Nelson, which was also nominated for a Grammy. He has now completed his long-awaited new studio album, which follows Billy's first live album "BILLY STRINGS LIVE VOL. 1" released this year. Recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville, the album is titled "HIGHWAY PRAYERS. It was produced by John Bryon, who is known for his work with Fiona Apple, Mac Miller, and Aimee Mann.The 20 songs on the album are in addition to Billy's own band that he has worked with for many years, consisting of Billy Failing (banjo/vocals), Royal Massat (bass/vocals), Jarrod Walker (mandolin/vocals), and Alex Harvlaves (fiddle), In addition to Billy's own longtime band of John Bryon (bass/drums/percussion), Matt Chamberlain (drums), Jerry Douglas (dobro), Jason Carter (fiddle), Lindsey Lou (backing vocals), Nathaniel Smith (cello), Taneka Samone ( backing vocals), Corey Henry (piano), Peter "Mudcat" Roos (harmonica/jaw harp), and Victor Furtado (clawhammer banjo).
