The Birmingham, Alabama native first gained attention in 2005 with his hit "Icey," but a dispute with Young Jeezy, who guested on the song, over the rights to the song led to a beef between the two artists (which later dissolved). In 2008, he was released from prison for a probation violation, but was reincarcerated in 2014. However, even during his incarceration, he was actively recording "from behind bars," releasing mixtapes and an album that was only available for distribution. Since his release from prison, Gucci Maine has continued to drop tracks and mixtapes at a furious pace, and continues to perform on stage and lead his own label, The New 1017 Records.He has been nominated for a Grammy Award and his songs have been streamed more than 13 billion times, and he has announced the release of a new studio album. The album is titled BREATH OF FRESH AIR. It is his first album since "ICE DADDY" in 2021. After releasing "King Snipe" featuring Kodak Black, "06 Gucci" featuring Da Baby and 21 Savage, and "Pissy" featuring Roddy Ricch and Nardo Wick this year, he will be releasing his 4th single "Bluffin" this summer. Bluffin" was dropped as the 4th single this summer. At the same time, they also announced the release of a new album. His latest album, "Birth of Fresh Air," will include these four singles as well as "Big Boy Diamonds," which once again features Kodak Black as a featured guest.
