Listen now to music for today's rapidly changing society and "nature punk songs" about not only surviving, but thriving in a world of natural disasters and turmoil. Hurray For the Riff Raff (real name: Alynda Segarra) is a singer/songwriter born in the Bronx but now based in New Orleans. Her first album on Nonesuch, "LIFE ON EARTH," will be released." The theme of the album title, which means "life on earth," is "survival. The songs on the album are "nature punk songs" about not only surviving, but thriving in a world of natural disasters and chaos. Segarra, who left everything behind at the age of 17 to run away from the Bronx.She and a group of street kids would sneak onto freight trains and hitchhike across the United States. Then, in 2007, she moved to New Orleans and formed two bands, Dead Man's Street Orchestra and Hurray for the Riff Raff. in 2015, Segarra moved to Nashville and then New York City, where in 2016 she launched her own Puerto Rican The release of the critically acclaimed THE NAVIGATOR, an ambitious concept album that was both a quest to reclaim his identity as a Puerto Rican and an exploration of his own.
