The new release from ALTERCAT, the excellent label that reissues Vertel, Maia de Fátima, and others, is a cosmic avant-jazz delight recorded in the Canary Islands! Luis Vecchio, a jazz keyboard player from Argentina who moved to London to study jazz and left his works for the library label De Wolfe with Archie Shepp and others, received a sign from the universe and moved to the Canary Islands. He established the first jazz school in the Canary Islands and made significant contributions to the local jazz and other music scene. Betsio recorded this album in 1978. The recording was made with a trio consisting of Fernando Bermudez (percussion), also from Argentina, and Yoichi Yahiro (bass), who has participated in works by Spick & Span, etc. The trio sublimated their contact with Adoniezis in the idiom of free jazz and jazz-rock. The unique worldview of spiritual jazz, including "Ucanca," in which Adoniez sends an ominous message to mankind, and "Arima," a jazz funk song built on an impressive riff, are so intense that they seem to spark off a rich and intense session.The original is still sold at a high price, so we are very happy to see it reissued this time.
